Just a few miles from Sondrio is Chiesa Valmalenco, the main town in the Valmalenco valley.
The ski resort comprises the towns of Chiesa, Caspoggio, Chiareggio, Campo Franscia and Lanzada, and has modern ski lifts and cable cars and well-groomed slopes. Skiing has become extremely popular again in the area in recent years so the resort has built new facilities.

Snowboarders will be thrilled with the fantastic snowpark in Chiesa which offers the perfect place for them to try out all their tricks. The cross-country skiing trails have also been completely renovated and cover a total of approximately 35 kilometres. There are 2 diffi cult and 2 medium level trails as well as 1 easy trail.

Valmalenco will host the Snowboard and Freestyle skiing fi nals.
