The FIS Grand Finals 2008 are the Greatest Event of the season 2007/08, a special celebration taking place every 4 years joining the best racers of 4 FIS circuits: Alpine, Cross-Country, Snowboarding, Freestyle.
5 days of thrill in 3 venues: Bormio will host the Alpine races, Santa Caterina the Cross-Country events,
Valmalenco, the fun side of the FIS Grand Finals 2008, will show Snowboard and Freestyle.
It's the 3rd time that the Grand Finals are taking place, and it's the third time that the Italian mountains are the magnificent scenery. In 2000 Alta Valtellina, in 2004 Sestrieres and the Alta Val di Susa, in 2008 Valtellina- Lombardia.
28 races are on the schedule in the 5 days, from Wednesday the 12th of March to Sunday the 16th.
55 crystal globes will be awarded with 159 medals to more than 800 racers attending this great
event with a total prize money of about 900.000€.
The Organizing Committee is ready to deliver more than 5.000 credentials.
During the event more than 6 hours of live show will be broadcasted daily from the area. In each of the
finish areas, and in many locations of Valtellina, a special 'Spectators TV' will be broadcasted for the public and all
the winter sports fans will be involved without any interruption. 20 hours of coverage have been planned.
